FIVER: Anything that costs more than $0 up to $10 per child/person
FANCY: Maybe choose one or two of these activities for special treats. They will cost you at least $10 each.
Click on the title of each for more info and/or to book. Keep in mind many of these events run over multiple days so don’t feel locked in to the dates below.

The First Week
Maybe you’ll freeze, maybe you’ll sweat, maybe you’ll bathe in mud… either way, have a blast!
Monday 23rd Sep
FREE: Angry Birds at Waverley Gardens
If your kids love Angry Birds head to Waverley Gardens for crafting and a meet and greet. Great timing with the new movie coming out.
FIVER: Frozen Tribute Show
Let it Go at The Sands Hotel for only $6. Also this show is on on the 2nd Oct for a lunchtime session.
FANCY: Tesselaar Tulips Festival
We love the Tulip Festival; especially during children’s weeks (school holidays). Get there nice and early and splurge on face paint!!
Tuesday 24th Sep
FREE: Reptile show in Upper Ferntree Gully
If you’re one of the many (many!) people who ask me where I buy my yoghurt frogs, I’m hear you tell you it is at this shopping centre. Meet some real frogs and grab some yoghurt ones on your way out, haha. But seriously… yum!
FIVER: Junior Burger Masterclass
Make your own burger and a space themed dessert out at Eastland!
FANCY: Acro Kids
Is your kid driving you crazy? Let them get out some energy in this school holiday workshop We’re off to try this out for the first time in week 1 of the holidays… I look forward to letting you know how we get on.
Wednesday 25th Sep
FREE: Badge Making
I’m not sure why badge making is so fun, but it really is! Check it out in Knox.
FIVER: Decorate a Pretzel
While at Knox you can DIY your own fanciful preztel out in Knox Ozone for $5.
FANCY: Bricks 4 kids
There’s a few of these workshops running through playcentres etc this holidays and most are $15…. but this one includes a free meal!! Great deal.
Thursday 26th Sep
FREE: Celebrate wellness in Cranbourne
Some great activities on during the first week of the holidays out at Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre; kids cooking, yoga, gardening and exercise sessions! Every day is different too.
FREE: Cranbourne Mini Carnival
While you’re hanging in Cranbourne to get your zen on (see above) why not take advantage of the free outdoor festival, with free rides?!
FIVER: Little Red Train
At Wilson Botanic Gardens in Berwick there is a little red train choo-chooing about. Catch a ride for $6 if you’re 3+ or for free if 0-2 (adults ride for $6 too)
FANCY: Gumbuya World
Heaps on at Gumbuya World during the school holidays; and the water park is back open again… woo hoo!! #lazyriverforlife
Friday 27th Sep
FREE: Auskick at Fountain Gate
Get set for finals fever with a bit of shopping centre Auskick! Bookings preferred
FIVER: Cherry Hill Blossom Festival
For only $10 for ages 14+ and 13 and under free on weekdays this fesitval is really well priced! I’m keen to pay $5 extra to take my girls to one of the kids bee keeping workshops and honey tasting!!

Monday 30th Sep

FIVER: Pokemon Tribute Show
I’ll be honest, I really don’t know enough about Pokemon to make a witty comment about this show or any or it’s content. So let’s just presume if your kids are into it, it’ll be $6 well spent…. and if not, at least they sell beer!
FANCY: Pirate Cruise
Enjoy a 1½ hr Scenic Cruise From San Remo filled with pirate themed activities!
Tuesday 1st Oct
FREE: Karingal Animatronic Animals and Craft
Head in to Karingal Hub these school holidays and witness the spectacle of the Animatronic Safari Zoo! The animals roar, the animals move and come to life before your very eyes. There are also free guided tours available to meet the animals but you must book as they’re limited to 10 kids per time slot.
FIVER: Build a Bear in Pakenham
For $5 make a new friend out at the Heritage Shopping Centre. Bookings required.
FANCY: Bunjil Place Luminarium
Immerse yourself in a maze of lights and colour!! Looks amazing.
Wednesday 2nd Oct
FREE: Transformers at Chelsea Heights Hotel
Totally free show, however if you do choose to book a table and grab a meal kids will receive a free goodie bag!
FIVER: Kids Sports Day at the Old Cheese Factory
The Old Cheese Factory puts of heaps of great family friendly events throughout the year. For a gold coin donation pack a picnic and enjoy a fun day out.
FANCY: Superhero Train!
WAM!! POW!! BAM!! are you ready to join your favourite superhero on their next exciting mission?! Come join them and ride the rails at Mornington Railway! Have you ever wondered what you might have in common with your favourite Superhero?

Thursday 3rd Oct
FREE: The Zoo
Sometimes I list the zoo as free, other times as fancy. If you’re a member enjoy your free feeling experience. If you’re not, use Small Ideas to get a discount on your entry. Pack your bathers if nice weather for Melbourne or Werribee.
FIVER: Donut decorating at Krispee Kremes
For $7 you get two original glazed donuts and all the toppings to go to town! Plus a bonus hat and balloon….woo hoo!
FANCY: Melbourne Star
Kids fly free throughout the school holidays (with a paying adult). So it’s a great saving!
Friday 4th Oct
FREE: Gardening in Springvale
BYO green thumb to Springvale homemakers centre for a variety of gardening activities throughout the holidays.
FIVER: Spaceland at Eastland
Head to “outerspace” in Ringwood for a gold coin donation. Eastland do a fantastic job for their kid events and this one is sure to be great too. Donations go to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
FANCY: Monski Mouse’s Baby Disco
Baby Disco Dance Hall is designed as a super-fun session of dancing and play with your small person as you bop to an eclectic selection of retro classics, thumping nursery rhymes and funky tunes.
