With term two comes rainy days, windy days, less daylight and more layers. Sometimes getting to your local playground is all too hard and perhaps funds just aren’t there for play centre madness. Enter shopping centres!
Some (fabulous) shopping centres really keep families in mind by provided excellent, free, kids entertainment and activities throughout the school term.
Here’s how term two is shaping up:
Monday:
Eastland has storytelling every Monday at Robinsons Bookshop at 11am. After you’ve listened to a story why not check out one of the play spaces or head to Daiso to pick up a bargain. Read more about Daiso here

Tuesday:
Cranbourne Park has an event on the first Tuesday of the month which they advertise through Facebook. It is held at Theobroma Chocolate house and parents/carers get a FREE hot drinks while the kids are entertained! There’s a small play area there too within the store or a bigger play area also within the shopping centre.
For a more regular Tuesday activity Fountain Gate has a great schedule of activities running each week from 10am-1pm near Target. You can see the full schedule here.
Waverley Gardens have activities every second Tuesday outside Target. Check out which weeks it is running here.
Wednesday:
Casey Central run free activities every Wednesday and Saturday which are usually advertised on their Facebook page a week or so before to let you know the topic. Afterwards be sure to check out their fantastic GATED playground!
Southland also run activities every Wednesday from 10-1pm outside Toyworld. You can read the full schedule here
Thursday:
You know I couldn’t find any events for Thursdays! If you know any give me a shout.
Friday:
The Bubs Club at Fountain Gate invites you to bring your bubs along for a fun and interactive morning where you can enjoy a FREE morning tea and be informed on some of the ins and outs of being a new Parent! Every Friday at 10am.
On Fridays my big girl is at kinder and I’ll only have the baby so I’m keen to check these out. See the full schedule of topics here
For older kids check out Free Friday Fun at Cardinia Lakes in Pakenham. Plenty of great options still to come this term; face painting, cupcake decorating and petting zoo!!!
