Giving the Gift of an Experience this Christmas

Do your kids have enough “stuff”? I know sometimes Christmas can seem like a time when your house just gets full with things that your kids will love, but ultimately might become more clutter in a matter of weeks. Time and time again I hear parents asking for the gift of an experience for their child instead. Less stuff, more memories.

Here’s a little guide for some easy to purchase gift experiences to fill the Christmas stocking this December. Use it for yourself, or send it to the Grandparents to help them out. Everything listed below can be purchased online via the link that says “Gift the ….”; easy right?

Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!

Gift the Zoo!
Yearly membership for adults is $9 per month/$108 per year, and kids are free!
Your gift of a membership will include entry into all three sites (Melbourne, Werribee and Healesville), and in addition to that, being a Zoo member also gets you discounts on many events throughout the year.

Gift the Melbourne Sealife aquarium!
Buy a “flexi ticket” so your recipient/s can choose the day and time that suits them best. Under threes are free too! The Melbourne aquarium is really well suited for children, especially the interactive colouring in room and the rock pools for touching and exploring.

Gift the Lego Discovery Centre!
These guys don’t make the process as easy as other places (bummer), as you can’t gift an individual ticket (unless you want to specific the day and time)… and no gift vouchers it seems. But, I LOVE it, so if the Lego Discovery Centre is within your budget an annual pass would be a welcomed gift for many families. Click here to read my blog all about it…

Gift the Big Goose!
This local animal farm on the Mornington Peninsula has something for everyone. Gift vouchers starting from a simple day admission for $14 to family day passes or even annual passes; there’s a gift for every budget! Click here to read my blog all about it…

Gift Vjunior!
Vjunior is a kids cinema within Village (like gold class for kids). I love this gift for it’s ease of purchase and use. For $24.50 a child gets a movie ticket to Vjunior (located at Knox, Fountain Gate and Southland), 1 x hot food item from the menu, 1 x small popcorn, and 1 x small drink. Gift the Enchanted Gardens
You can buy vouchers for general admission only (tube slides, mazes, obstacle courses and loads more), or add on some tree surfing! Click here to read my blog all about it…

Gift the Penguins!
Phillip Island Penguins also have a really easy gift voucher system. Choose a variety of ticketed options, all of which can be gifted! Click here to read my blog all about it…

Gift Luna Park!
Whether you choose a single child admission or to gift a family pass there’s a few options here and a very easy booking system!

Gift Boneo Maze and Mini Golf!
A fantastic family day out, with single admission or family passes available to gift. Boneo has many events on throughout the year too, from Halloween to Easter and everything in between. Click here to read my blog all about it…

Gift the Small Ideas voucher book/app
I mention this little gem pretty often on this blog, for $34.95 you can gift a family a book full of free passes and discounts to use around Melbourne. I love it!! Also, it is worth noting that, the Small Ideas membership will get you discounts to nearly all the places I have mentioned above, and is pretty low cost in comparison. Winning!!

Gift the Museum and Scienceworks!
Total bargain, especially if you’re in the West! $79 for a yearly family membership which includes the Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks and the Immigration Museum.
