Anyday Adventures

I like eating out, but we don’t eat out for dinner very often; sometimes it is just in the too hard basket. But as my child gets older, and my friend’s children start to enter kinder and school our catch up opportunities really diminish. So… we do dinner! Sure, a home cooked meal is nice, but so is a great pub parma, a cheeky brew and a night out.

Here’s a list I’ve put together of places to eat that meet two important criteria:

• Must be free meals for kids (on at least one day of the week, and not just special events/holidays)
• Must have a play area

Here’s a map to give you an idea of what’s in your area. Scroll through the lists below to plan your next night out!

On Mondays kids eat free at…..

  Kids eat free on Thursdays but every Saturday Night from 6pm & Sunday afternoon from 1pm kids will enjoy things like face painting, magic shows, and pirates!

• Steeples in Mornington
  Kid’s eat free Sunday to Thursday at Steeples, but on Monday there is also free face painting!
• Croxton Park Hotel in Thornbury
  Kids eat free Sundays and Mondays
  Kids entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays too
• Taco Bill Beaconsfield
  I’m not sure how many Taco Bills have playrooms, but this one does!
• Munich Brauhaus in South Wharf
  Kids eat free ALL WINTER (all day, every day) but the play space is only on Sundays.
  On Sundays between 11:30-3pm there is a petting zoo, disney movies playing, face painting and crafts.
  Great sounding kids menu (crispy mac and cheese balls with smokey bacon…yes please)

Honorable mentions. Great kids deals, but no play space

• Brownstone Micro Brewery in Doveton
  Kids eat free all weekend!!!!
  Plus on Saturdays you can get a beer and a steak for $15 and on Sundays you can get two pizzas for $30
• Lime Leaf Lakeside in Pakenham
  Because Thai food is awesome
  Kids eat free Mondays and Tuesdays
• TGI Fridays various locations
  Kids eat free Monday – Wednesday
• Hogs Breath Cafe various locations
  Kids eat free usually two nights a week, check your local store.
  The kid’s meals come with a FREE juice or soft drink, plus 2 FREE scoops of ice cream for dessert!
• Taco Bill various locations
  Most seem to have their kids eat free night on Sundays

Honorable mentions. Great play space, but no free meals

• Beretta’s in Langwarrin
  This is the biggest free indoor play area in Australia!! Kids have a different special every day, never free, but often meals are $2.
